The USC Institute of Armenian Studies will host the second installment of its two-city conference focused on Armenia’s post-independence transition. END OF TRANSITION will be held at the Cafesjian Center for the Arts in Yerevan from May 23-24, and will feature presentations by renowned diplomats, regional specialists and scholars. Panelists include Daron Acemoglu, author of the book “Why Nations Fail,” and Tim Judah, Balkans correspondent for The Economist. Ambassadors Edward Djerejian and Jack Matlock will speak about the cultural and societal impacts of Armenia’s membership in the former Soviet Union. Garik Hayrapetyan, director of the United Nations Population Fund in Armenia, philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan and filmmaker Eric Nazarian will also attend, among many others.
