Georgi Derluguian: War, Society, and Developmental State

Professor Georgi Derluguian from New York University Abu Dhabi, at the END OF TRANSITION: Armenia 25 Years On. Now What? conference organized by the USC Institute of Armenian Studies in Yerevan, took the approach of a historian sociologist to present the dynamics of a society and a state in the shadow of a war with no foreseeable resolution.

Derluguian, who has PhDs in history and sociology, has previously taught at Cornell, the United States Institute of Peace, University of Michigan, Northwestern, and since 2013, he has been teaching at the New York University Abu Dhabi.
