At CivilNet, we strive to present the underlying causes, consequences, and perspectives of phenomena, events and problems, and answer not only the ``What`` but also the “Why”.
CivilNet – an online television and media source with a focus on human rights and democracy in Armenia, regional peace and the Diaspora. CivilNet – a program of the Civilitas Foundation, was founded on September 21, 2011.
The goal of the Civilitas Foundation is to contribute to the strengthening of Armenia’s democratic development. The Civilitas Foundation was established in 2008.
CivilNet’s mission is to identify and discuss issues of concern to the public, to promote citizen responsibility, protection of rights and government accountability through innovative and responsible journalism.
In the course of its activities, CivilNet has partnered with / collaborated with local, international and Diaspora organizations and individuals, as well as governments and government agencies through/within the framework of various programs.
Our international partners include the European Union, the United Nations specialized agencies (UNDP, UNICEF, and UNFPA), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), the Prague Civil Society Center, the German Marshall Fund, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the Eurasia Partnership Foundation, and others.
Our partners include the Foreign Affairs Ministries of Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
CivilNet also collaborates with the Armenian organizations – the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU),the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the IDeA Foundation, Aurora humanitarian initiative, the John and Hasmik Mkrtchyan Foundation and many others.
CivilNet has also partnered with media organizations such as Media Initiatives Center, French International radio (RFI), France Médias Monde, Tbilisi-based ALIQ Media, etc.
