“The Homeland Needs You,” Pashinyan Calls on Recent Military Servicemen to Re-Enlist in the Army

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called on those who have completed their mandatory military service within the last year to report to the central command and enlist as volunteers.

“I appeal specifically to our men who have completed their military service within the past year because according to the law, they cannot be included in the current mobilization efforts.”

Pashinyan added that although they are not included in the draft, they are “one of the most efficient sectors of our military.”

Referring to the 1918 battle during which the Armenian army prevented the Ottoman invasion of Armenia, Pashinyan continued: “The homeland needs your help. This is the new [Battle of] Sardarapat. This is not a Karabakh issue, but rather, a continuation of the Armenian Genocide.”

“I have said that we will not walk in the deserts of Deir Zor. We are the citizens of Armenia and we must be able to defend ourselves. You are called upon to fight to death for the homeland.” Pashinyan said.
