Irina Ghaplanyan on Armenia’s Environmental Issues

Officials from Armenia’s government participated in Innovate Armenia – a festival of ideas and action that took place at the University of Southern California on May 18.

Dr. Irina Ghaplanyan, First Deputy Minister of Nature Protection, presented on Armenia’s top environmental challenges and possible solutions. She also discussed the intersection of women’s rights and environmental issues.

Innovate Armenia is organized by the USC Institute of Armenian Studies. The program featured fifty participants, from six countries, and nearly 4,000 attendees. This is the fourth time in five years that this unique event has been staged by the Institute.
