PACE Votes Do Not Necessarily Reflect the Policies of Countries Represented by Voters

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe voted on two draft resolutions today; adopting one, “Inhabitants of frontier regions of Azerbaijan are deliberately deprived of water” and rejecting the other, “Escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and the other occupied territories of Azerbaijan”. The latter was presented by former member of the House of Commons, Robert Walter and had sparked a protest in front of the British Embassy in Yerevan a day earlier.

CivilNet spoke with Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Armenia, Judith Farnworth about the controversial report, the official UK stand on the resolution of the Nagorno Karabagh conflict and the priorities of the British Diplomatic Mission in Armenia.
