Documentary filmmaker Adrineh Grigoryan was at the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations to participate in the event, “Discriminated Before Birth: Sex Selection as a form of Gender-Based Violence,” sponsored by World Vision US and the Armenian Relief Society. Gregoryan was invited to be a panelist and talk about her documentary film Bavakan, which explores the alarming practice of gender selection abortions in Armenia through the stories of four women.
