Documentary filmmaker Adrineh Grigoryan was at the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations to participate in the event, “Discriminated Before Birth: Sex Selection as a form of Gender-Based Violence,” sponsored by World Vision US and the Armenian Relief Society. Gregoryan was invited to be a panelist and talk about her documentary film Bavakan, which explores the alarming practice of gender selection abortions in Armenia through the stories of four women. She spoke to CivilNet via Skype from New York City.
