The Armenian government is still considering whether to participate in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Turkey in March, according to Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. Mirzoyan made the comments during a joint press briefing on February 2 with Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg.

On January 20, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu announced that Turkey had invited Armenia to participate in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum to be held on March 11-13.

Mirzoyan added that he and Deputy Parliamentary Speaker Ruben Rubinyan, who is also the special envoy to the Armenia-Turkey normalization talks, have been invited to the forum.

“Not only do I not see a problem here, but I think that if we connect this with the current Armenia-Turkey talks, it seems positive,” Mirzoyan said.

During a press conference on January 24, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that if the current positive dynamic is maintained between the two countries, there is a very high probability that Armenia will accept the invitation to participate in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

The first meeting of the Armenian and Turkish envoys Ruben Rubinyan and Serdar Kilic took place in Moscow on January 14.
