The indoor mandatory mask mandate has been lifted in Armenia, announced by the Armenia’s Health Ministry on March 2.

According to the ministry’s statement, healthcare facilities will still observe mandatory mask mandates, and though no longer mandatory in other spaces, the ministry still recommends wearing face masks in closed spaces.

“The coronavirus epidemic situation in Armenia has been assessed as stable. The health ministry will ease restrictions,” the ministry’s statement read.

In the last two weeks, 11,775 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in Armenia, which is 69% less than in the same period of last year.

The percentage of positive test results being registered in the last two weeks was 18.1%, compared to 37.9% in the same period last year.
