In order to promote energy efficiency in Armenia’s rural communities, an initiative on Financial and Ecological Literacy was implemented within the framework of the ECOserve Environment Programme of GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH ). The initiative was implemented by the Armenian representation of the Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation (DSIK) with the aim to support energy efficient financial management of households in rural communities and to promote energy efficiency, especially during the COVID-19 epidemic.

As of early Monday afternoon, more than 4,800 displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh have arrived in Armenia, even as the Nagorno-Karabakh government urged people to temporarily refrain from traveling to Armenia, citing the need to first evacuate people injured in last week’s fighting. “All citizens who wish to move from Artsakh to Armenia will have that opportunity,” Stepanakert said.

The first group of displaced Nagorno-Karabakh citizens has arrived in Syunik, Armenia on Sunday, CivilNet’s Armine Simonyan reports from the southern Armenian region.
