“We must do everything possible to raise awareness about the importance of the sciences”, Dr. Gayane Melikyan

Gayane Melikyan sat down with Lara Tcholakian to discuss the challenges related to transferring scientific knowledge to new generations and the lack of good role models who inspire new students in STEM. Gayane’s ancestors can be traced back to Kars, Calcutta, Talish, Shamshadin, Erzurum, and Javakhk, and she reflects on the role her family history had in her upbringing, and in transmitting the sense of self-respect, courage, and drive. Finally, education has been of central importance to Gayane and her family which has consequently strengthened her commitment to a number of projects and programs, including the 4090 Foundation.
