“An educated society is the future for Armenia”, Suren Aloyan

Suren Aloyan, in conversation with Lara Tcholakian, shares his journey and goal to improve the education system and education technologies both in Armenia and abroad. He speaks about his experience in founding and leading educational technological organizations such as Dasaran and the PopUp School, as well as the implementation of the Koreez Educational Oscars to help discover talented students and honor teachers. He touches upon the dire need to strengthen and increase the role and reputation of teachers in Armenia. He also reflects on the perspectives required for a more viable nation.

About Suren Aloyan

Suren Aloyan is a social entrepreneur, the Founding President of Dasaran Ed-Tech company, and the Co-Founder and CEO of PopUp School EdTech Inc. In 2016, Dasaran was recognized as one of the best 5 innovative enterprises in the world by the UNDP in its Accelerate 2030 initiative. Suren has served as Chief Expert in Armenia’s Ministry of Defense for 11 years and received the Admiral Isakov Medal of Honour in 2012. He has also received the Golden Commemorative Medal, the highest award of Armenia’s Ministry of Education and Science in 2016 and was honored with the High state award by the country’s president in 2017. In 2021, the World Economic Forum honored Suren Aloyan as the 2021 Young Global Leader, the first ever Armenian national to be honored this title.
