As Azerbaijan’s blockade of the only road connecting Armenia and Karabakh stretches into a second day, officials in Stepanakert and Yerevan are denouncing the closure and demanding international intervention to resolve the issue.
As of 5 p.m. local time, the Goris-Stepanakert highway remained closed, marking more than 30 hours since a group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothing began blocking the route.
The Greek village of Yaghdan is located in Armenia’s northern Lori province. According to the regional administration website, it currently consists of roughly 100 residents, most of whom are Armenians.
