Azerbaijan’s blockade of Karabakh separates Armenian children from their parents

As Azerbaijan continues its blockade of Karabakh, numerous families have found themselves separated from one another.

The Russian peacekeepers mediated the transfer of 19 teenagers back to their families from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh on January 17. On the road, a group of Azerbaijanis stopped the bus and harassed the youngsters, until peacekeepers intervened. Prior to this incident, one mother spoke to CivilNet about their family’s ordeal. Her three children are in Armenia, whilst she, her husband and 7-month baby remain blockaded in Karabakh.
