- In the aftermath of Monday’s devastating earthquake in Syria and Turkey, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held separate telephone conversations yesterday evening with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Armenia has sent a 29-member rescue team to Syria and a 27-member team to Turkey, according to the Interior Ministry.
- Erdoğan thanked Pashinyan for his solidarity and noted that the Turkish government highly values Armenia’s support, especially in terms of deepening dialogue between the two countries, which do not have formal diplomatic relations. It was Pashinyan’s second phone call ever with Erdoğan.
