EU visa process remains humiliating for many Armenians

Armenia is seeing new flight routes open for the country. Just two weeks ago, Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air announced new flights between Armenia and Germany, Poland, Czech Republic and Bulgaria. The European Union itself has promised that Armenians will one day be able to travel to Europe visa-free, like their Georgian neighbours. But as of now, the process for Armenian citizens to get EU visas remains arduous. It is commonplace for people not to receive responses prior to their planned travel date, causing disruptions to peoples’ travel, education and work plans.
