Towards the Centennial of the Turkish Republic: A Panel Discussion

AUA College of Humanities and Social Sciences has organized a panel discussion entitled “Towards the Centennial of the Turkish Republic: Imperial Continuities and Ruptures.” 2023 marks the centennial of the establishment of the Turkish Republic, and it is also a year of general elections within the context of regional and international turmoil. The panel will look at socio-political and historical trends that have shaped and continue to shape modern Turkey. Speakers of the panel are:Dr. Cengiz Aktar, Professor, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Hrant Dink Visiting Fellow; Dr. Vahram Ter-Matevosyan, AUA Associate Professor; Dr. Varak Ketsemanian, AUA Adjunct Lecturer. The panel is moderated by Asbed Kotchikian, AUA Associate Professor.
