Armenia begins process to construct customs post on Turkey border

  • Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Armenia is ready to accept border observers from the Collective Security Treaty Organization, a Russian-led security bloc.
  • The European Union nominated Vassilis Maragos as its next ambassador to Armenia. Maragos would replace the EU’s current envoy, Andrea Wiktorin.
  • The Armenian government announced its intention to restore a customs post on the border with Turkey near the village of Margara.
