About Dr. Garo Armen
Dr. Garo Armen is an American-Armenian scientist, businessman and entrepreneur. He serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Agenus Inc., which he co-founded in 1994. He is also the founder of the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF). He currently acts as Chairman of the Board of Protagenic Therapeutics. He has been at the head of seven different companies, most of which are in the business of advancing scientific technologies and immunotherapeutic products in the cure for cancer. Dr. Armen received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the City University of New York. In addition, he is the recipient of several prestigious awards and honors, including the Ellis Island Medal of honor for his humanitarian efforts in Armenia and contribution to American society, the Medal of Honor from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia for his contribution in revitalizing rural communities in Armenia, and the Mkhitar Heratsi Medal from the President of Armenia for services to the development of healthcare in Armenia.
