Armenia’s first major solar plant comes online: THIS WEEK IN BUSINESS

  • Masrik-1, Armenia’s first major solar power plant, came online, as the country continues to see a rapid growth in renewable energy generation. That helps put Armenia, which has set a 50% renewable energy target by 2030, well ahead of schedule.
  • Russia’s ambassador to Armenia reiterated Moscow’s willingness to sell Yerevan a new nuclear plant. Armenia, which has to shutter its current plant in the next decade, is also considering options from the United States.
