British Filmmaker Daniel Bird visited Armenia for the screening of Sergei Parajanov’s Color of Pomegranates at the offices of AGBU in Yerevan on March 7. This classic of Armenian cinematography is a restored version (2014) of the movie. He contributed to the restoration process led by US-based Film Foundation, the Bologna Cinematheque in Italy, Hay Film in Yerevan and Gosfilmofond in Russia.
In 2017, Mr. Bird also produced the UK Blu-Ray release and edited an accompanying book, featuring a preface by Martin Scorcese, the first English translation of Parajanov’s literary script and a selection of archival documents.
