Armenia, Azerbaijan establish operative connection

According to Armenia’s now acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, a reliable operative connection has been established with the Azerbaijani side.

According to Nikol Pashinyan, the situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the Artsakh-Azerbaijan contact line is unprecedentedly quite. Pashinyan added that this is “the result of talks in Dushanbe.”

Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev had met during the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit hosted in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, September 27-28. In what became their first official conversation, leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to work towards reduction of frontline tensions and to resume direct dialogue.

“As agreed with the Azerbaijani side, we have established a reliable operative connection and we can say that any information will reach the President of Azerbaijan within half an hour, and vice versa. Information from their side will reach me within the same amount of time,” Pashinyan said.
