Following a three-hour meeting in Moscow on January 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin says he and the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan have signed a joint statement.

"I consider today's meeting exceptionally important because we were able to agree to sign a joint statement on the development of the situation in the region. I am referring to concrete steps towards building economic ties and developing infrastructure projects." Putin said.

"I am confident that the implementation of these agreements will be good for both the Armenian and Azerbaijani people, and without a doubt,  for the whole region. This means that it is also in the interests of the Russian Federation," the Russian President continued.
