Coronavirus tests were carried out on three servicemen on March 25.

According to Shushan Stepanyan, Press Secretary of Armenia’s Defense Minister, the tests were a necessary anti-epidemic and preventive measure by Armenia’s armed forces to prevent the penetration and spread of the virus.

“Besides the conscripts of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, servicemen also have direct contact with the civilian population, epidemiological inquiries and medical examinations are being carried out,” Stepanyan wrote on her Facebook page.

The presence of COVID-19 in a family member of one of the three servicemen was confirmed.

The servicemen are not from the same army unit. They were isolated, and those who were in direct contact with them are in self-isolation.

“The military-medical facilities of the Armed Forces are equipped with the necessary material and medical staff is ready to carry out appropriate treatment of possible patients with the new coronavirus infection,” added Stepanyan.
