1st Session of Armenia’s New Parliament

Armenia’s new parliament will hold its first session on January 13, 10pm PST. For the first time since the 1990s, the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia, as well as the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, have been voted out of parliament. Following parliamentary elections on December 9, Nikol Pashinyan’s My Step Alliance now holds majority in Parliament. Pashinyan, the leader of the “velvet revolution” who will be appointed prime minister, has promised sweeping reforms and anti-corruption strategies in the former Soviet country.
