Year in Review-2015

2015 has been an eventful year for Armenia. The international spotlight shone on Armenia this spring. An unparalleled number of dignitaries and celebrities visited Armenia in commemoration of the Genocide centennial. The summer of 2015 was energized by the Electric Yerevan movement, which occupied Baghramyan Avenue in protest against a planned electricity price hike. Autumn of 2015 was marked by a constitutional referendum, which accepted a reform to create a parliamentary republic.

Early winter saw tensions in Karabakh escalate to an unprecedented height since the establishment of the ceasefire regime in 1994.
