Healing, growth and transformation. A conversation with Dr. Ani Kalayjian

Ani Kalayjian, in a conversation with Lara Tcholakian, speaks about the challenges her parents faced as descendants of the Armenian genocide and how she grew up experiencing the physical and emotional effects of trauma through her parents’ suffering. She reflects on the personal and professional journey she took to study the impact of trauma and to devote her life to helping others heal through her foundation “Meaningful World Association for Trauma Outreach and Prevention”. The foundation’s intention is to improve people’ physical, mental, social and spiritual health.

About Dr. Ani Kalayjian

Ani Kalayjian is an Armenian-American psychotherapist, trauma expert, professor and author. She is Founder and President of the Association for Trauma Outreach & Prevention (ATOP), Meaningfulworld. She is a graduate of Columbia University’s Teachers College with Master’s and Doctoral Degrees, and holds an Honorary Doctor of Science Degree from LIU. Since 1998, she has consulted the United Nations, and more recently has been the representative of ATOP Meaningfulworld at the UN. She is editor and author of numerous books and scholarly articles.
