CivilNet is an independent online media and television platform with a focus on strengthening Armenia’s democratic and economic development. CivilNet’s reporting, which reaches more than 11 million people globally, covers culture, politics, business, and technology.
CivilNet is looking for interns – Armenia-based and or remote – who will contribute to the organization’s reporting, news distribution, and administrative divisions. A degree in journalism or graphic design is not required, but applicants must be fluent in English, demonstrate an ability to handle multiple responsibilities at once, and have a passion for media.
Depending on skills and experience, selected applicants will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and mentorship in multimedia news reporting, social media content creation and distribution, as well as newsroom administrative systems. Interns who live in or are able to travel to Armenia, will be provided with space in the newsroom and will have access to video and audio equipment.
Pay
Monthly stipends are available depending on the applicant’s availability, and experience.
Timeframe
A three month minimum commitment is required.
Applicants must be
- Flexible and have superb communication skills.
- Enrolled in or have an undergraduate degree.
- Able to work 10 hours per week.
- Fluent in English with strong written and oral communications skills. Knowledge of Armenian or any of the other regional languages is not required, but cultural flexibility, adaptability and readiness to learn new norms is required.
