Another Armenian Soldier Killed in Karabakh

Armenian serviceman Armen Avetisyan, born 1995, suffered a fatal gunshot wound from Azerbaijani fire at an Armenian military unit along the eastern section of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani Line of Contact on the evening of June 24.

A statement by NKR’s Ministry of Defense read: “The Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh’s Ministry of Defense shares the great sorrow of this loss and offers its support to Armen Avetisyan’s family and fellow servicemen.”

An investigation has been launched to determine the details of the incident. On June 5, contract soldiers Andranik Eghoyan, born 1988, and Boris Gasparyan, born 1992, were fatally wounded at one of the military units by enemy fire from the South-Western portion of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border.

Spokesperson for the Republic of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan spoke with CivilNet regarding the Armenian response to Azerbaijani incitement, border incidents, and the need to maintain calm.
