Memory Sites, Memory Paths Towards Another Future Conference

“Memory Sites, Memory Paths Towards Another Future” is organized by the Hrant Dink Foundation in cooperation with DVV International and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Turkey on March 22nd and 23rd.

The conference will have a special focus on the practices of dealing with the difficult pasts through museums, memory sites and memorialization projects. The present and the future of the practices of memorialization and dealing with the past; the new methodologies will be discussed from the experiences and perspectives of the museum professionals, memory site experts, curators, academics and artists from different geographies. The conference will address topics like exhibiting difficult pasts; relation of art and memory; urban histories and memory; new dimensions and challenges in memorialization; alternative pedagogies; the power of personal testimonies; and dealing with the perpetrators.
