Conflict Resolution Through Experiential Learning

Studying conflicts in school seldom provides a complete picture of the reality on the ground, especially when the conflict is thousands of miles away. Founded in 2007 at the University of California, Irvine, the Olive Tree Initiative brings students outside the classroom and into the conflict regions they learn about. In June, 11 students from California universities traveled to Armenia, Turkey and Georgia to immerse themselves in complex domestic and regional issues.
