The Changing Borders of The First Republic of Armenia 1918 – 1920

Between May and June of 1918, the Republic of Armenia was established on a small piece of land of the Ararat valley and surrounding areas. During the two years of its existence, the borders of the republic expanded, then shrank.

What happened after the battles of Gharakilisia, today’s Vanadzor, Bash-Aparan, and the Battle of Sardarapat. How did the borders change, how did that impact the First Republic of Armenia, what are some of the resulting consequences of that time.
