Forty-two percent of Armenian citizens think it is important to do volunteer work as part of being an exemplary citizen. However, in 2011, only 22% actually did some form of volunteer work.

The one million dollar prize is a global award that recognizes individuals for risking their life, health, or freedom to save others. The demonstrators are demanding an immediate halt to ongoing work in Armenia’s bordering region of Tavush to legally define part of Armenia’s border with Azerbaijan. Anti-government protests grow in Armenia amid border deal with Azerbaijan

Protesters led by Mikael Adjapahyan, Archbishop of the northwestern Shirak region, left Gyumri today with plans to join Archbishop of Tavush Bagrat Galstanyan’s march as it approaches Yerevan.
