Russia ‘expects response’ to complaint over Surmalu blast rumors

Russia says it “expects a response” from Armenia after lodging a diplomatic complaint over rumors of Russian involvement in the large explosion at Yerevan’s Surmalu shopping strip.

The authorities in Karabakh asked the Russian peacekeepers stationed there to give them a say in deciding which journalists are let into the region.

A resident of Gyumri, Armenia’s second city, was arrested in connection with two fake bomb threats made earlier this week and charged with false reports of terrorism.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met his Georgian counterpart to inaugurate a new bridge at one of the main border crossings between the two countries.
