CivilNet is looking for journalists – Armenia-based or remote – to join the organization’s English-language division. Part-time and full-time positions are available. A degree in journalism is not required, but applicants must demonstrate knowledge and curiosity about the region. Depending on experience and skills, selected applicants will work in text, video, and audio formats.
Requirements
- Fluent in English with strong written and oral communications skills. Knowledge of Armenian or any other regional language is not required, but cultural flexibility, adaptability and readiness to learn new norms is required.
- Able to cover political, cultural, social, or economic issues in Armenia, Karabakh, and the region.
- Cover major events by writing and editing short news items in Armenia, Karabakh, and the region.
- Hands-on and flexible with timing when it comes to breaking news.
- Able to research, seek out, and interview sources.
- A six month minimum commitment is required.
