Հնագույն ազգ լինելով, չենք հարգում մեր պատմությունը:
Փաստ. President.am կայքը սկսվում է ոչ թե 1991-ին, այլ 2008-ին: Այո, 1991-ին ինտերնետ չկար, կայք չկար: Սակայն այսօր բազմաթիվ ընդունակ երիտասարդներ կան, որոնք կարող են սկան անել Հայաստանի նախագահների գործունեության շրջանների փաստաթղթերն ու նյութերը և դա մատչելի դարձնել հանրությանը: Վերջին հաշվով, այդ նախագահները առաջիններն են, որ Հայաստանը երբևէ ունեցել է և նրանց որոշումները, գրագրությունները, նամակները, հայտարարությունները մեր պատմության մասն են: Սակայն մենք ցանկանում և անգամ հպարտ ենք դրանք դեն նետել կամ առնվազն դնել փոշոտ դարակում:
Ես հիշում եմ արտաքին գործերի նախարարությունում անցկացրած տարիներս: Երբ մենք տոնում էինք ԱԳՆ տասնամյակը, բոլորը զարմացել էին, թե ինչու լուսանկարների ցուցահանդեսում ներկայացված էին նաև նախկին նախարարները և ոչ միայն նա, ով այդ ժամանակ ղեկավարում էր գերատեսչությունը:
Բայց չէ՞ որ նրանք մեր պատմությունն են, նրանց գործունեությունը իմ կյանքի և ապագայի մասն է: Ամոթ է, եթե երկրում որևէ մեկը ժամանակ կամ ձգտում չունի Տեր-Պետրոսյանի շրջանի փաստաթղթերը սկան անել և տեղադրել կայքում: Իսկ Քոչարյանի շրջանի փաստաթղթերը հանել կայքից՝ պատճառաբանելով, թե սերվերի վրա տեղ չկա, իսկական կարճատեսություն է: Այդ պարզունակ և ինքնարդարացուցիչ բացատրությունը սերվերի հետ կապ չունի:
Ի՞նչ կասեք, եթե հասարակական բոլոր կազմակերպությունները հավաքվեն և նախագահականին առաջարկեն սերվեր գնել նրա համար: Արդյոք Բաղրամյան 26-ում դա կօգնի՞ պաշտոնյաներին հասկանալու, որ իրենք բոլորն էլ ժամանակավոր են այդ շենքում, որ պատմությունը նրանցով չի սկսվում և նրանցով չի ավարտվելու: Նրանք Հայաստանը չեն: Հայաստանը ես եմ: Հայաստանը դու ես:
Իմ պատմությունը, իմ փաստաթղթերը վերացնելը արդարացնելու հանդգնությունը խոսում է այն մասին, որ այդ վերաբերմունքը նաև մեր և մեր երկրի նկատմամբ է:
Երիտասարդ մի օրիորդ, որը թերևս միակը չէ, չգիտեր, թե ինչու է սեպտեմբերի 21-ը նշվում որպես տոն: Երիտասարդ տղաները տարին մեկ անգամ բացականչում են Շուշիի ազատագրման մասին, սակայն իրականում չգիտեն, թե ինչպես է դա ստացվել: Թուրքիայի հետ փակ սահմա՞ն. ոչ ոք չգիտի, թե Տեր-Պետրոսյանն ինչ մարտի մեջ է եղել թուրքերի հետ այդ իրադարձությունից շաբաթներ առաջ: Ադրբեջանի անդրդվելիության նկատմամբ Քոչարյանի արձագա՞նք. ո՞ւր են այն փաստաթղթերը, որ շունչ են տալիս այդ իրադարձություններին:
President.am կայքի այսօրվա պատասխանատուներին ինչ-որ մեկը պետք է հիշեցնի, որ մեկ կամ հինգ տարի անց ինչ-որ մեկը կփոխարինի նրանց և նախորդների աշխատանքը ջնջելը սովորական մի բան կհամարի: Վերջիվերջո, դրա օրինակը արդեն կա:
Նրանց բոլոր գործողությունները, բոլոր քայլերը այսրոպեական են: Վաղվա օրը նրանց չի հետաքրքրում:

We’re an ancient nation that apparently has no respect for history.
What triggered this? The banal, self-righteous explanation for why president.am begins with 2008 and not 1991. It’s true there was no site in 1991. But there are plenty of young people able to scan and post documents about Armenia’s presidents. After all, these presidents are the first ones we’ve had, ever and their decisions, letters, statements, speeches– they are our history. But we’re
willing, we’re even eager and proud to throw them out, put them in a back room, in a drawer, at best. I remember in the years at the foreign ministry, when the ministry’s 10 years were celebrated, every one was surprised that the photo exhibition included photos of the previous ministers and not just the sitting president.
But they are our history, their actions, define my life, my existence, my future. If no one has time or the inclination to scan and post documents from the Ter-Petrossian years, that’s a shame. But to actually remove – because we don’t have sufficient server space – the documents and statements from the Kocharian years, that’s silly and short-sighted.
How about if all the NGOs get together and offer to buy the president’s office a server? Would that help? Would that help make it clear to those in Baghramyan 26 that they are nothing except today’s occupants. Nothing more. History did not begin with them, nor will it end with them. They are not Armenia. I am Armenia. You are Armenia. They are no more or less than you and I.
And the audacity to do away with MY history, with my documents, the inconsiderate way in which history – our history – is disrespected and dismissed is only superceded by their disrespect and dismissal of their people – us, and our country.
A young woman, and perhaps not she alone, doesn’t quite know why September 21 is a holiday. Young men once a year shout out about the liberation of Shushi but don’t really know how that came about. The closed border with Turkey – no one has a clue about Ter-Petrossian’s long-winded battle with the Turks in the weeks that preceded that event. Kocharian’s lambasting Azerbaijani intransigence? Who remembers? Where are the documents that breathe life into those events?
Someone should remind those who place information on president.am today that in a year, or in five years, someone will come in, firmly believing it is acceptable to delete their work. After all, that is the example they have set. In all their actions. Everything they do is about today. Nothing for tomorrow.
